Hey newsletter squad-
I want to share something with you that I’ve been working on.
It’s called Gentle Reflections and Purposeful Intentions: Creating a Meaningful Mission for Your Right Now Life. And it’s a goal guide that isn’t a goal guide.
I love goal setting. Every year since 2015, I’ve purchased a goal setting planner just to work through everything I want to accomplish or cultivate during the next year. Even when I know that it’s likely I won’t achieve certain goals, I love daydreaming about the possibility, and giving myself direction.
2020, though, was different.
I had wonderful goals and best laid plans. And then of course, pandemic! I had no idea I needed to be prepared for a global pandemic and 9 months long quarantine. So all those plans? They just didn’t quite fit.
This is a little bit true for every year. We know when we set goals for ourselves that they are simply plans and intentions. We know that wrenches will be thrown and curves in the road will come— but we do it anyway, because we want a direction for our year. We like the roadmap.
2021 won’t fix all of 2020’s problems. It is offering us something, though. I think it’s offering us a gift.
We can’t know everything the next year might bring. But because 2021 can’t fix everything, it can offer us the gift of predictability. At least for now. We know what life looks like right now, so why don’t we just plan for the right now?
I didn’t buy the goal setting planner this year. Lovely as it is, it just doesn’t fit for me right now. That doesn’t mean I want to cast aside all goal setting! To the contrary, I want to set all the goals. But, like many of you, I need it to look a little differently this time.
For some of us it may feel like a waste of time to set goals knowing we have such little control over what life looks like right now. Maybe your heart is broken at all you have lost and missed out on, and it feels too vulnerable to imagine more things that might be taken away. I feel this, too, my friends.
But I’m also tired of waiting. I’m tired of telling myself that I will figure it out when the pandemic is over. Or that it can wait until things are normal again. After the last many many months, it has become obvious that I do not know when either of those things might happen— so I don’t want to wait for that imaginary day anymore. I’m guessing you don’t either.
So, what can we do right now to prepare for 2021? What can we do to lay the groundwork for good things to grow even when the ground feels dead? Maybe this year, part of seeking our direction for the next year is really about reflecting on the one we’ve just lived. And maybe, it’s not even about setting goals for the next year. Maybe it’s simply about setting intentions for where we are right now.
In Gentle Reflections & Purposeful Intentions, we will examine a few key questions that will allow us to find direction and purpose for our lives as they are right now, and we will develop five intentions for the new year.
This Guide is for:
Anyone who wants to reflect on 2020, but feels like carving out the time and mental space to do it is impossible.
Anyone who wants to live intentionally amidst what feels like chaos around us.
Anyone who wants to create their own standards to live by and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing.
Anyone who wants to stop waiting for normal to return to start hoping again.
Anyone who wants to refocus themselves without the pressure of complicated goal setting.
In the guide, we will walk through 10 different reflections and intentions to help you find your mission for your right now life. This is designed to be completed within the cracks of your life, so you can do a few here and there— whenever you have time, or do them all at once. By the end, you will feel more connected to what you want for the next year.
The Details
The guide costs $10.00 and will be immediately emailed to you as a digital download to print and complete. You will also gain access to a private Facebook group for everyone who purchases the guide. There you will find a community of members to support and encourage you as you discern your steps for the next year.

Gentle Reflections and Purposeful Intentions
I love this Tay. So much. There is so much pressure sometimes, no matter the age, to over achieve, over perform or over produce.
