When Thoughts and Prayers Aren't Enough: Now Available for PRE-ORDER
I wrote a book and now you can buy it!
The thing about writing a book is that it’s a miracle.
The whole thing takes a long time, and there are always more steps. I know this because I’m in the middle of the “more steps” part of the process, (or “journey” for The Bachelor fans among us).
But the thing about all the steps is that it never quite actual feels like it’s going to happen. But then, one day, you are browsing Amazon and you type in the title of your book JUST TO SEE as you have done many times before. But then, there it is. The cover is there and your name is there and people can actually buy a book that has within its pages the words you wrote.
This happened to me the other day. It was a moment full of *gestures wildly* feelings.
I think that there is a weird thing that some of us believe, I think mainly women, that we can’t be too proud of ourselves or our work. That it is arrogant to be that way. And sure, pride can certainly lead to arrogance, giving way to sin. But, I also think downplaying our gifts and minimizing what God has done through us can be a sin, too. So, I am tempted to hide my excitement, my pride, and my joy about my book. I am tempted to play it cool and act like I don’t think this is one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done. But, I’m going to try to resist the temptation because I don’t think it serves me, my readers, my publisher, or God in any way.
So here is the truth.
I am so proud of this book. I am proud that I wrote it. I am proud that I wrote it during a global pandemic and in the midst of an actual insane year. I am amazed at how God multiplied my time, protected my peace, gave me physical endurance and strength, and continually offered people who would encourage me. I am full of hope that it will impact lives, hearts, and minds. I am prayerful it will make a difference in this world. And I think that watching my name show up on my favorite independent bookstore’s website is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my life. I will never get over it.
And though I am 100% positive my book does not fall into the “Law Enforcement Biographies” category on Amazon, I did reach “#1 Best Seller” in it, and I refuse to bite the hand that feeds.
So, in conclusion: I’d really love it if you’d buy it.
Pre-orders are open now ahead of the July 6th, 2021 launch date. Pre-orders are incredibly important for authors. They let the retailers know how many books to stock and tell the publisher that people are interested in the book. If you are able to pre-order, it would mean the world! If you can’t, please share about the book! That is just as important. And if you are really in the mood to help? Ask your local bookseller if they are taking pre-orders for it yet!
For now, you can order the book through The Bookshelf, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble and feel free to use the image below to share about the book. I will be eternally grateful for your support.
